poor image quality
I am using Firefox 3.6.13. Recently the image quality is poor in most websites. When I hover over an image it says to press Shift + R (or A) to improve the quality, but this doesn't always work. It is frustrating that it doesn't just show the images at normal quality automatically and I don't think that I have changed any settings, only done the automatic updates. Someone else posted something similar, but the response was regarding an ISP. Using a laptop, I use several different connections at home, work and on the move and the problem occurs using any provider, so I am assuming the problem must be Firefox related as I don't have to do this is IE? Any help to stop it reducing image quality in the 1st place would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance - Justin

You only get that if you use a connection that add a script to each page that is send to you. This can be your ISP or a proxy if you connect through one.
Did you check the connection settings?
Are you using a proxy?
You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy
Not directly a Firefox problem. Sounds like you have a "web accelerator" installed, but I don't see a plugin installed in Firefox in your More system details.... list next to your posting.
Do you recall installing anything immediately prior to that starting?
Do you use a dial-up connection?
Or have you ever connected through a wireless phone or "card"?
Hi guys, thanks for your posts. It is set to 'Use system proxy settings' at the moment (this is a bit over my head, so I wouldn't know what setting it should be on'. I sometimes use a wireless phone or dongle connection, but it seems to be the same if I am using full broadband. I don't remember installing anything immediately prior to this happening. Would the a web accelerator be related to Firefox, or would it be separate and show up in my 'Installed programs list' in C Control Panel?
