I don't use Norton products, but now Norton Safe Search has replaced Google. I have gone into about:config and under Keyword Url the Google string is visible. How do I get rid of Norton? Thanks

One moment I'm using Google, and the next I get Norton Safe Search. I have not downloaded any Norton products, I don't ever use Ask.com, so I'm not sure why this is happening. For example: if I type in "NYTimes" I get the Norton page. Previously, I would be taken directly to the NYT page, via Google. This seems to have started yesterday.

I should add that I've searched earlier threads and done the about:config approach. Still, no resolution.

Update: this problem now occurs on my laptop which I hadn't used in several months. So, I don't think it results from some recent download. Anyways, there seems to be no relief so I've just had to dump Firefox and start using my other browsers (Chrome, Safari, Flock, Opera).
