When I start Firefox, there's a new tab open right at the beginning of my other tabs. How do I get rid of this open new tab?

Can someone tell me how to configure firefox so a New Tab isn't always open when I sign in. I have 4 tabs that automatically open when I sign on, but now I have a new blank tab. How do I prevent a blank one from opening?

You're welcome.

Did you miss: Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' symbols  ?

That pipe symbol at the begin of the Home page setting will cause a blank page to open.

Did you check the Home page settings?

You can start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

It is also possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

Delete sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

Ok, none of above helped, but I do see what my problem is. As my homepage, I had a | in front of the http which made it think there was an open page in front. I feel good, figured it out myself!!! But thanks for the help everyone. I'm still waiting for an answer on another question I posted in here. It was concerning setting up Adblock Plus. Please go out there to see what I'm looking for. Thank you.
