I have read that burn4free.exe is a trojan horse or worm and it infects the Windows operating systems and Firefox browser but is very hard to remove by anti-spyware programs. how can I remove it?

You can remove it with this free AV: http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Also download the free version of Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free and run a full system scan to eliminate other malware on your system.

Thanks for the suggestions. avast.com looks like a great program and has gotten great reviews, but it didn't find burn4free.exe or identify it as a trojan or worm, which it is. burn4free hides very well so it can't easily be detected it seems. I'm going to try malwarebytes.org next and hope I am successful. My browser performance is so slow and I'm afraid that burn4free is stealing passwords. SpyBot Search & Destroy identified it as a trojan but couldn't remove it. Thanks for the suggestions.

If you don't have any success with Malwarebytes, try this one (also free): Remove Burn4Free
