Since I updated to 4.0.1 I have sounds coming out of my speakers whenever a new pages loads. They only appear during the loading process and stop once the page is loaded. I have tried removing and re-installing flash with no change.

The sounds are quiet, and seem to match with extraneous electrical signals being sent to the speakers - white noise.

Firefox doesn't have any sound events.

Do you have the NoScript extension installed? It has a "zap" sound when scripts are blocked. Look at NoScript Options > Notifications = un-check Audio feedback when scripts are blocked

No, I don't have NoScript installed. The sounds aren't anything deliberate - not a 'zap' or clear sound, just the sort of noise that you get when you use a speaker with a loose wire, or a microphone is plugged in when you hadn't noticed.

Except that they happen when (and only when) firefox is loading pages.

Thanks for replying.
