I was asked if I wanted to store a password and said no. I would like to change my mind and store password for that site. How can I get Firefox to ask again?

Hi cor-el - Thanks for directing me to the Mozilla help pages for passwords. I had already done that to no avail.

I had deleted the particular saved password from my Saved Passwords list (because it didn't include my username), and I now want to add it, but FF won't offer a second chance to save.

The password is not in my Saved Passwords list nor is it listed in the Exceptions. (I'm running on a brand-new MacBookPro with OS Lion 10.7.1.)

I found the following and tried it, but it didn't work: • delete site from bookmarks • clear history when FF closes in prefs • quit FF • restart FF • uncheck clear history when FF closes in prefs

I still can't seem to make FF offer me a second chance to save a password for a particular site.

Any help is appreciated.

Did you make sure that there aren't any other entries with an empty name?

You can try "Forget About This Site" to remove all data including already saved passwords.
You can find that item in the right-click context menu of an history item.

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.
