Can the Master Password Ever Be Figured Out by the Tech Guys at my Job?
At my job, all the computers are networked into a server. Can the tech guys figure out my Master Password? In other words, how safe are my passwords on Firefox? I'm concerned that the tech department will be able to determine my Master Password and therefore have access to all my passwords.
Chosen solution
Of course, the master password is encrypted too. But it can be recovered with a tool like FireMaster if you have chosen a master password that's not strong. Define a strong password with a generator like http://www.pctools.com/guides/password/ (check punctuation option to include symbols like !#%* etc)

Read http://kb.mozillazine.org/Master_password Passwords are encrypted with 3DES-CBC with a key derived from the master key (yours or the default one hardcoded in Firefox if you didn't define a master password) then encoded in base64 and stored in signons.sqlite database. If a user tries to remove the master password, all the password list is deleted.
Thank you very much for your reply. Ummm.......not to sound too dense......but does that mean the tech boys can NOT figure out my Master Password?
