firefox doesn't open google the way it used to
I use Windows7-Outlook2010 New computer with Foxfire and IE installed. Foxfire was my default browser and it opened with Google just fine. Today, I wanted to change my IE homepage but unintentionally changed it in Foxfire. When I tried to change Foxfire back to Google on opening, I got a totally different format... Google yes, but when I entered the search, the box got small and moved to upper left and started with Googles annoying Google Suggest. How can I get this back to normal?? Can you hear me weeping? I would truly appreciate your help. Thanks.

As of Firefox 4.0, Mozilla changed the Firefox Start Page from http://www.google.com/firefox to about:home .
What's the URL of the Google page that isn't working as it did previously?

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.Ler a resposta no contexto 👍 1

Hi weaver15,
You should try changing your home page to:
about:home
I think this is probably the page you are looking for. If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article How to set the home page.
Hopefully this helps
I hoped it would help but it didn't. I followed all instructions (I'm pretty sure I did it right). I want Firefox to open with Google as it used to. It is opening with Google but it isn't the same Google... when I type the first letter the Search box flips up to the top and is smaller. I don't understand it. Isn't Google the default search for Firefox? I am confused. Any new ideas? I appreciate your input, Matt. Thanks.

I hope I did this right and that you can see the jpeg. This example is what I got after I clicked Foxfire on taskbar and the Google page opened with the Search box in the center of the page. However, it does not look like the former page did.... the original one had the Google Search line but under it was some text about Foxfire. This time for this jpeg, I entered fox into the search and it flipped from center up to the top, smaller, and the map and all kinds of other stuff appeared. That isn't the Foxfire google is it? I should know how to answer your question about the URL but maybe it appears in the jpeg. Right now I'm just plain confused. Hope you have the answer.
The URL... I think I know what you asked.... at first it is www.google.com. As soon as I enter anything into Search and it does its flip, it changes to.... http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=fox+news&pbx=1&oq=fox&aq=1&aqi=g4&aql=1&gs_sm=1&gs_upl=0l0l6l14469l0l0l0l0l0l0l0l0ll0l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=232dd482f38522b3&biw=880&bih=388
What??? Is this what you wanted to see?
