The image/gif problem is only on Tumblr (as far as I saw), but it's as if the images weren't even there. (the way I see it, it only happens when I'm browsing through someone's tumblr, but when I enter a tag every picture showes, and on my dashboard as well). when I press reload, it reloads the entire site without the pictures. I tried a link on internet explorer and google chrome: it showed the pictures on IE, but not on GC. At first I thought it was because I didn't update firefox, but it showed up even after I updated everything (including adds-on). I also cleared my cookies and cache, and tried other things but nothing worked. Embedded videos won't show up anywhere.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions" or all domains via the about:permissions page
  • check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.image pref should be 1.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

For Firefox you need to specify the file name via a data attribute in the object tag.

<object height="432" name="bsplayer36641" data="https://www.brainshark.com/brainshark/viewer/getplayer.ashx" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="515">
<param name="movie" value="https://www.brainshark.com/brainshark/viewer/getplayer.ashx" />
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
<param name="flashvars" value="pi=97425465&dm=5&pause=1&eurl=zG9z72Dalz5lAYz0" />

I can't POST images on Tumblr and certain sites (amazon turk) won't let me do the job because the images won't show up. Of course the problems only in firefox, as always. I'm fed up. Nobody ever comes and helps further with Firefox issues.

You may have security software that is blocking the upload of images.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
