When I opened tab to check "submit performance data" I did not have this tab choice. It just wasn't there.

I followed the directions to check for slowness of firefox and high cpu usage. Tools>options>advanced>general>check "submit performance data" but there was not a box to check. All the other boxes were there. Just not "submit performance data".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Submit Performance Data was changed to 3 different options in Firefox 21 to better reflect how Firefox can share data with Mozilla. We use the information to improve Firefox in many different ways, so the more the merrier :)
