Chosen solution

are you talking about "Always show the tab bar pref", that has been removed, you can though get that back thru a addon.

The following is available in Firefox 23, only with TabMixPlus 0.4.1.0 installed.

Firefox button > Options > Options > Tabs > Hide the tab bar
Tools > Options > Tabs > Hide the tab bar

A box is added to the bottom of the Tabs options panel with 3 options

Options are:

  • Never (self explanatory)
  • When I have only one tab (self explanatory)
  • Always (never a tab bar no matter how many or how few tabs you have open) - I have tested with 20+ tabs open and the tab bar disappears; selecting Never makes the tab bar reappear.
