Changing My Frontpage Yahoo Theme Settings

more options

I recently switched over to the new My Yahoo design. My biggest concern is that the background color is not pleasing to the eye. In the upper right hand corner of “My Front Page” is a “Choose Themes” link which allows you to change the color of the background. I can change the color, but it doesn't save it even after I hit “Done” and the following pops up, “Error Close - Sorry! We are temporarily unable to save your settings. Please refresh or try again later". I've been trying to change the color theme for several days now, with negative results. This issue happens with both windows vista and windows 8. I also tried both IE and Firefox and that doesn't resolve the issue either. Can anyone suggest a resolution to this problem?

Chosen solution

Using my Firefox browser, I've tried all the suggestions several times, nothing I do will allow me to save the themes. However if I use the Windows IE 10 browser it will save without an issue.

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I cleared all of my cookies, but still had negative results.

It sounds like a problem with the Yahoo website if you get the same problem in two different browsers on two different computers.

Or if the problem is somehow related to your internet connection (router filters web traffic?), you could try changing it from a different location such as public library or office.

Chosen Solution...???? I don't think using WIndows IE is a good solution for FF users.

Hi WFP_, it's not really a solution, but until we have an idea of why some users can't change themes in Firefox, it probably is the best workaround for now.
