I noticed a few days ago, the profile pictures on Twitter, when I open it on Firefox, do not always load. I refresh and some will load and some won't. A refresh will load some others and ones that loaded before will not load. And sometimes when refreshing you end up on an unformatted twitter page. I have tried all the standard solutions, clearing cache and safe mode. I see no problems in IE, running smoothly there, so it does not seem to be any issue with my Anti-virus or firewall.

I also just experienced a situation where when you click on the profile pic, I get an error that the rights to the picture have not been updated, but that has suddenly seemed to have gone away.

Is this something with Twitter or you guys?

This is a problem (bug) in the Firefox 25 beta version.

You can set the security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling pref to false on the about:config page.

Thank you for your help. Funny, that guy posted in the morning, but I didn't see it when I searched.

This didn't work for me - does anyone know how I can role back from 25.0.1 to 24?

I've tried changing security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling to false in the current version and I still can't see any images, including profiles, on twitter.

Any ideas??

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden "Menu Bar" temporarily.
  • Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
  • Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
  • Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a check-mark then remove this check-mark to unblock images from this domain.

Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

Note that these settings affect background images.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.
