firefox simply won't open webpages, it gets stuck on connecting and won't do anything. i checked for any bad plugins, checked firewalls, restarted without add-ons, re-installed, but nothing happens. it occasionally opens one webpage and then immediately stops working. it does, however, work normally in windows safe mode.

Hello,

When you say 'Windows Safe Mode', do you mean, when the Windows machine was booted in Safe Mode or when Firefox was started in Safe Mode. That detail will help in narrowing down the issue. If it is the former, then it could be that some software on your machine could be causing issues in connectivity. Knowing that detail will help in suggesting the next steps.

Thank you

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Did you Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process?
