Firefox 29: toolbar keeps resetting after restart

Hello,

I'm using Firefox 29 since the first beta, and I have done several menu customization. But if I remove the "Star+Bookmark" icon the next restart I find it again in its default location (i.e. before the menu button). Other items added to the toolbar vanish after the restart as well.

I've tried to revert to default and the problem remains.

I've also tried to delete the localstore.rdf file and the problem still remains.

The problem is somehow similar to this

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=854226

I'd prefer not to create a new profile since I have many extensions, so I ask you if there is some other file, containing these customizations, that I could try to delete.

Thanks.

Chosen solution

Underpass, I'm pretty sure you're problem is caused by one of your add-ons.

Can you try to pin-point the offending add-on? I'd like to suggest the following method:

  1. Turn off half of your add-ons (Disable in the add-ons manager) and restart Firefox.
  2. If the problem is still there, disable half of the remaining add-ons and restart Firefox.
  3. Continue step 2 as long as you can reproduce the problem.
  4. If the problem in not there anymore, the offending add-on is among the list you just disabled and should be easier to find.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks, I managed to spot the culprit: it was this addon

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rss-icon-in-url-bar

Hope this can be useful to other users. I'll try to warn the author.

Bye and thanks again
