I've been using firefox for many years as my browser and enjoyed all the customizability, it's been great and a testament to the ethos mozilla stands for but I've got to be honest, I hate this new update.

I've had a good look around and it seems the only way to get the layout back is to go back to an unsecure version. If that's the choice then so be it, I really don't want this new layout.

I've tried classic theme restorer and it doesn't work for me btw, not with the NNL theme.

Can anyone advise a trusted location to source the 64bit install files for 28 please?

I'm currently looking into waterfox to see if that's an alternative but I suspect they're just an iteration behind and things will change for them too.

Waterfox has been a decent alternative for others as it IS the 64-bit build of Firefox (advertised) but I've never used it. Others say it's great and last I heard about it was that the developer(s) of Waterfox weren't going to upgrade to the Australis look but rather keep it old-school with the pre-29 look e.g. Firefox 28.

Before FF I was using maxthon and was really happy when I gave FF a try, I was able to get the layout exactly how I wanted it and with the NNL theme it looked decent too. I will be really sad to part company with something I like(d).

I understand that. All that time getting your stuff fixed and the way you want it and it just messes up everything in a single update

It seems there isn't a 64 bit version. I'm back on v28 thank goodness!

I could only handle about half an hour of v29 lol

PLEASE provide the end user with the option to opt out of that GUI, I'll be staying with v28 till that happens. If nothing changes then I may have to have a look at alternatives which would be a real shame as 28 was great for me.

There is no 64-bit version of Firefox but the regular 32-bit works just fine on 64-bit systems as I'm using it on Linux and Windows 8.1 in a VM environment.

I'm glad to hear that you at least tried to retain 29 whilst using available options. Not many users would do that.

Unfortunately, yes, if you don't like the add-ons. Personal comment rather than an comment as a Moderator, I feel that if you don't like Firefox's new design, you should switch over to another browser that's secure. At least then you won't be risked with the chance of security holes and data loss due to those holes.

Thanks for the reply, I had already sent a courteous message via the feedback system ;)

Users like choice and customizability, the new update is a massive step in the wrong direction for me sadly.

There are 64-bit Releases of Firefox for Mac OSX and Linux that is ever since Firefox 4.0 but not for Windows. It is a combined 32/64 for Mac and separate 32/64-bit downloads on Linux.
