Since a recent update to the Ubuntu Linux kernal, Thunderbird does not automaticall check for new mail.

I tried clearing the checkbox for automatically checking, and resetting the timeout, quitting the program, restarting and checking the box. Thunderbird does find new mail when the program starts, but clicking on the 'get new messages' button also does not produce any results for me.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour

You have to have "download messages" checked, along with one or both of Check for msgs at startup, or Check for msgs every ___ min.

This has to be done on all acct (server) settings.
