when typing in address bar and the website comes up I click on it and it wont go there just takes me to a search engine for the results of what I have typed in?

I begin to type in a web address into the address bar and below the address bar drops possible addresses from my history I use my curser and choose the correct one it then takes me to a search engine with results from the few letters I put in the address bar. If I put in the full address in the address bar it takes me directly to the site I want no problem.

That shouldn't happen, but sometimes I notice the address bar doesn't update to match the first result I arrow down to. I sometimes have to arrow down to the next one and then back up before I can see the correct address in the address bar and press Enter. I haven't figured out the pattern, but if you spot one, maybe we can come up with a theory.
