I get random proxy user authentication pop ups when using Firefox 31.3.0 ESR. If I hit cancel the prompt goes away and I am able to browse the site. I have tried auto detect, manually putting in the pac files for our proxy (URL) and manual proxy configurations. This does not happen on our network with IE9 or Chrome.

Talroc, in the Network Settings in Firefox it is possible to uncheck the box that prompts you for user credentials.
