After a crash Thunderbird does not open; how can I restore without loosing data?
Hi there,
I tried to write an eMail with an attachment and Thunderbird did not respond any more. I closed it and tried to restart, but I got the error message that it was in use. I restarted computer twice, but still same message. I then delete file "profile.lock", but still no difference, except that error message doesn't come any more.
I am using Windows 7 on an ASUS laptop computer.
What can I do to repair the application and keep my eMails?
Thanks for you help, Wolfgang Bien

Well, that sounds like there is a difference. What happens now when you start Thunderbird?
What is your anti-virus software?
