I have Thunderbird 38.1.0 with the integrated Calender. I do not have it linked to google calendar or any other.

Most of my meeting invitations come through fine but some do not. I see the .ics attachment however there is no accept button to automatically add to my calendar. I have also tried saving the .ics file then importing but that does not work. Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

is there any of the usual display, or just a blank email with an attachment? Is the appointment/meeting in the past? I don't get the buttons when I create item for yesterday instead of next week.

The email is not blank, it shows the invitation information and details. They are scheduled in the future.
