Virgin media no longer use g mail. They filter out spam which no longer goes into my Thunderbird spam folder. This creates a problem as often mail used to go into that folder which I could check to see if it is not spam. How can I prevent Virgin from doing this. They suggest that this can be effected through settings but I cannot locate settings in my Thunderbird account

Go to Virgin's website, login to your email there and look for settings.

Anyhow, if your account connects using IMAP, you should be able to see their Spam folder. Maybe the problem is that you're using POP?
