My Thunderbird (Version 38.2.0 under Windows 7 on a Lenovo L450) keeps freezing after sleep-and-resume. It seems that the culprit is a chat connection to Facebook chat. When I log off this chat account (my only chat account), Thunderbird revives as it should after sleep.

Is there a solution other than logging off the Facebook chat account?

make sure you network connection stays aware when the system sleeps.

The computer sleeps for hours at times; keeping the connection alive is not a realistic option. I would expect TB to silently re-establish chat connections when the computer wakes up, just as it re-establishes IMAP connections. If it cannot re-establish chat connection, it would be helpful if it would not freeze. BTW, closing (the only thing that works in the freeze state) and re-starting TB works as a work-around.
