I have about 15 more or less permanent tabs of emails that contain information to which I frequently refer. However, they often disappear, sometimes after I close and restart T'bird, often after I install an update, and almost always after I close the program and restart my computer, but not so often when I just close T'bird and shut down. It doesn't happen when the computer "sleeps" (or "hybernates") and I wake it later or the next day.

how often to you allow ccleaner to delete the session file that contains the open tabs.

So far as I know, never, but I've not even thought about that. It is the case, however, that: (1) after I run CCleaner the tabs are still there, (2) that tabs remain after I close and reopen Thunderbird, and (3) they disappear only after (but not always) I reboot (before which, I always close Thunderbird).
