I used Thunderbird to create a custom signature in HTML format that includes an image and links, etc.

It works well and looks good (for my artistic abilities, ha ha).

However, two dashes are always inserted on a separate line above the signature. They create an awkward looking gap in the email presentation that I have to delete every time I send an email.

Any idea how to stop Thunderbird from inserting the extra lines and dashes above the signature?

christ1, thanks! I would have had no idea how to do this on my own. The instructions on the reference page are very detailed and easy to follow & worked like a charm.
