firefox hello "sign in or sign up" generates a blank tab
firefox hello "sign in or sign up" generates a blank tab, blank apart from a link to Mozilla in the top right corner. Also instead of a Firefox Hello button I have a string of symbols. Firefox hello does work as I have made a test call.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

My theme "Simple White", was no longer compatible with the current Firefox. I now have "Simple White X". The Firefox Hello icon is an empty thought balloon.
