From the Mozilla front page I was trying to find a way to go to my yahoo mail account. I utilized the Mozilla "Menu" and selected the mail icon. I got to the page where Mozilla connects to my yahoo account and that's where the problem is. Mozilla reports there's a problem but no resolution. I ensured the password was correct and it was. I closed everything and went directly to my mail account and got in using my password, so I know the password is good. Beyond that there is nothing I can do! When computers start talking about, "POP" and things like that, (?) I quit!! Other servers like "Bing" and "Excite" they all work fine! So what's wrong with yours??

Hi fcolins357.

Thunderbird is a desktop e-mail client - so does not have its own mailserver. If you want to set up an account to use it from Thunderbird, you need to enter your mailbox credentials and mailservers, because Thunderbird in general don't know, who is your mailbox provider (Bing, Yahoo, Google, ...).

But you're right, in most cases Thunderbird can find the mailservers automatically. If it does not work for Yahoo (probably they does not support the autoconfig feature), please read Thunderbird and Yahoo help article, how to connect to Yahoo mail from Thunderbird.

What is, "Thunderbird"? And what does that have to do with me?? Maybe what you're saying is true and accurate, I'm not arguing that but it's not a fix! I don't relish the idea of having to type in and type in that! I just like clicking an icon and getting to what I want! I used to be able to customize my computer home page with simple clicks with "98" and a couple of other ones, I don't remember them all. I'm trying to use, "Ten" right now and it's not looking real good. I want to be fair and therefor I'm reserving judgment. But I'm less hopeful for Mozilla! So, unless we can resolve this issue, I guess I'll be going back to the regular internet programs on Windows.

Thunderbird is Mozilla e-mail client. You mentioned POP settings, which are necessary to set up account in e-mail clients, so I assumed you want to set up your account in Mozilla Thunderbird.

If not, where are you trying to login to your Yahoo account? In Mozilla Firefox, you can just go to https://mail.yahoo.com/ and login, no need to setup any POP or other.
