https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-high-definition/?src=userprofile stops it playing automatically but video has to be clicked several times to play. Flash stopper similar Next vid stopper does not now work with youtube changes. developer too busy to fix

Is there any add on that will stop the auto play and play with the first click?

media.autoplay.enabled is set to false in about:config but it still plays the youtube

No, not that I know of since are using the fix already. Nothing else I have found for Firefox.

Except maybe if go to a page that auto loads then go with mouse to far left of address bar and clcik permissions and see if something is there.

Can try some of these off a Google Search : https://www.google.ca/search?q=block+youtube+from+auto+play+firefox&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=8KT2WeiYO9isjwOhrqrQBw

Oh.....your Flash is out of date and is a security risk, please update to Flash Player Version: 27.0.0.183 https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Firefox's built-on media.autoplay.enabled preference generally applies to when a page first loads. When you are already on YouTube, the way that it moves among content may bypass that feature.

Probably you need an add-on.

Regarding whether another video plays automatically after the one you selected, there is a switch for that on the page (screenshot attached). This setting is stored in a cookie so it should be remembered as long as you haven't cleared your YouTube cookies. Then it will go back to the default.
