I am using the latest Firefox browser (56.0.2 64-bit) on a Mac (both a Powerbook and an iMac). I used Outlook (web-based) for my Hotmail email. Over the past couple of weeks - Oct/Nov 2017 - I've been unable to download any attachment (document, pdf, jpg, etc) from my Hotmail email while using Firefox. If I sign into my email on my Chrome browser, no problem. Downloading attachments works fine there. But not on Firefox.

Is anyone experiencing a similar problem and, if so, does anyone have a solution? I've tried resetting Firefox and clearing the cookie cache. No joy there.

Hi russelldoug, what happens when you try to download attachments. Do you get an error message? Nothing happens? Security block?

It's sometimes difficult to compare webmail experiences on popular sites because they offer beta test versions to some users. Can you tell whether you are using a beta test version (there may be a button to change back to the regular version)?

Hi. Nothing happens. You click on the usual download button inside the email and there's no change in colour to indicate a click, there's no action on the download arrow icon in the upper right of the firefox toolbar, when you click on that download arrow to get the latest downloaded item list, it says "no downloads for this session."

I was using the new beta version of outlook and it had been working (allowing downloads). I JUST switched back to the old, non-beta version of Outlook and I can successfully download items from my emails. Thank you for that tip.

I'll stay with the old version until Outlook and Firefox work out their differences in the new beta version. :)
