Prior Firefox versions had a setting to refresh the web page on re-entry. That is, if I visit a URL previously visited or found in cache, should Firefox refresh from the web or just display using data already in cache. I cannot find this option in current version. This is very convenient in dealing with bothersome Google Ads; many take so much time to refresh / load.

Hi, Opt #2 is there. Please Copy/Paste about:preferences#privacy to the Address Bar then Enter. At the Heading of History it is the very 1st line. Firefox will : (then you select). You may want to try a add blocker like Ublock Origin or Ghostery to avoid the ads. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/ You can also use keywords like cache and refresh and see if there are any other things that may help you out.
