How do you enable Firefox Narrate under Linux?
This survey https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/listen directs desktop users to use Firefox Narrate to TTS pages, but under a more or less default Ubuntu install the Narrate button doesn't appear.
This page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-reader-view-clutter-free-web... explains that "This button will show up only if Windows/Mac/Linux has Text-to-speech information in the language that the article is in", but not what steps to take to correct it.
Various older pages online point to TTS add-ons, but if the Narrate functionality is there it should be possible to get it working.
What's the application or daemon that Firefox needs for TTS under Linux?

I think they mean this; https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=Text-to-speech
Yep, those are the add-ons that people suggest, but I'm talking about the native Narrate functionality introduced in Firefox 49. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/49.0/releasenotes/
I checked the support articles. Nothing was found. I called for more help.
