I cannot recall having this problem. I did not report to Mozilla. Perhaps my account has been hacked? I use Thunderbird exclusively for mail on my Macs. Good product.

Perhaps. But I doubt your account in the support forum https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/njayl is activated, so someone would have needed to click on the activation email that was sent (presumably) to your thunderbird
