Can't connect to PayPal - insecure connection; was OK previously
The Error page tells me that PayPal and AOL have configured their web site incorrectly and now Firefox will not let me connect to their websites. This is a new message which I have not previously encountered. I don't believe for a minute that either PayPal or AOL are guilty. It may be a coincidence but I have just installed Bit Defender security on this PC. Please help, I do need these sites to work.

Thank you Pkshadow for your speedy reply. Clearly Bit Defender had caused the issue. The version I had just installed was the latest uptodate 2019 security app. I received the following information from their support people:
"Thank you for contacting Bitdefender support.
One of the most common culprits in these types of cases is the Encrypted Web Scan feature. This allows Bitdefender to scan internet traffic before it reaches the browser or application. Please follow these steps to see if this is the case:
1. Bring up the Bitdefender interface and go to Protection 2. Click on Settings under ONLINE THREAT PREVENTION 3. Turn off the switch next to Encrypted web scan"
This worked fine, but I assume that I have lost a valuable feature. Clearly this is not a new problem and should have been sorted in a way that did not affect the performance of the security package?

Hi, no it is Bit Defender : There is security software like Avast/AVG, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate. If you are running any of the above software please check their community forum for a work around to apply settings.
These pages are also for the errors you may have besides relating to the above.
