Just a heads-up.

The knowledge base article omits the fact, that from a certain version of FF, the favicons.sqlite file needs to be copied over if you wish to retain your bookmarks' favicons.

Thanks for the heads up!

In the future, be advised that there is a discussion section in each KB article. That section is used for discussing revisions that are required for an article.

I can also offer a little bit of an explanation as to way that is omitted from the instructions. The article is intended for recovering "important" Firefox data. Unfortunately, the favicons are not considered "important", since Firefox can rebuild that information when you load each bookmark.

Thanks for the reply Wesley,

"...there is a discussion section in each KB article"

Ah, found hidden under the 'EDITING TOOLS' menu. ;)

"Unfortunately, the favicons are not considered "important", since Firefox can rebuild that information when you load each bookmark."

And if you have hundreds of bookmarks but don't wish to click each and every one of them in order to avoid seeing a wall of generic icons???
