How to stop automatically loading a webpage on startup and load a blank page instead
Hi I'm using Mozilla Firefox browser version 64.0 on a windows 7 ultimate 32 bit pc. I have duckduckgo setup as my homepage. However, when I start the browser, it automatically loads the homepage duckduckgo. I want the browser to not load anything after startup; just display a blank page but I still want to keep the homepage as duckduckgo.
In the options menu of my browser, there is no such option for me to stop it from loading any page automatically after starting up. I have provided the screen shot of my options page > general tab.
Please, kindly assist me to stop firefox from loading anything automatically, immediately after startup. Thanks.

Hello ahmnedm,
At startup Firefox will open your homepage - you can set your homepage to be a blank page, but that is not what you want.
There is a way to keep your home page as it is and yet have Firefox open a blank page at startup :
Typ in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)
Type in the search bar and look for the preference :
browser.startup.page and set its value to 0 (= zero)
0 = blank page 1 = your home page(s) {default} 2 = the last page viewed in Firefox 3 = previous session windows and tabs
After you've changed the value, then close and restart Firefox.

Thank you very much for the tip. It worked.
