Firefox automatically reverts the default search engine to Yahoo after every update. I would like to know how I can prevent the browser from doing that.

Firefox automatically reverts the default search engine to Yahoo after every update. I would like to either know how I can prevent the browser from doing that or get Firefox to stop this from happening over and over by updating the application. I have to manually remove the default browser and select my chosen one after each update. It's getting a little bit ridiculous.

Neither the Firefox web browser nor Mozilla is reverting your Search Engine to Yahoo. Something else is doing this.

Firefox from mozilla.org does not even come with Yahoo as a search engine option anymore since Fx 57 and later due in part with the legal dispute with Yahoo

Does this happen every time you restart Firefox or only when Firefox updates to a new version?

You may want to review the How to fix preferences that won't save documentation to see if anything in there can help you.

It only happens when Firefox updates to a new version. I am going to review all the solutions that you guys sent me. Hopefully one of them will do the trick.
