Firefox stops shutdown, because windows are still open
I'm using Mac since… 1984 and I use it for a lot of tasks, really a lot. So I've between 12 and 18 applications open at the same time, one of them is Firefox. On shutdown (which takes several minutes) I leave… to discover later on that Firefox disables the shutdown because "some windows are still open"! WHAT THE HECK?!?! I don't care if windows are open, if I ASK to shutdown, I want it to shut down, not to care about windows being open or not. The worse is that a) Firefox is the last (or one of the last) applications Mac OS X shuts down. b) I can't teach / instruct or choose Firefox to stop even if windows are open. Or am I mistaken?

What's your computer system and Firefox version?
How are you shutting down Firefox? Windows: File => Exit Mac: Firefox => Quit Firefox Linux: File => Quit
I'm using Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) with Firefox 66.0.5 (64-bit).
The correct message I receive is: "Firefox" interrupted shut down (see enclosed partial screen-capture)
and I am forced to CLOSE ALL WINDOWS before Firefox suits. In other words it is IMPOSSIBLE to save all the windows (mostly between 4 and 5), which obliges me to reopen the every time again.
