When I select an element in the Inspector dev tool and add/change a CSS-property in the "inline" section, it never seems to take effect. The change does not reflect visually and when I select a different element and change back to the original element, the inline section is reverted.

What do you mean with "inline properties" ?

You add a rule for the selected element under "This Element: element {}" You can use the "+" button to create new rules for a more specific selector.

Note that you can also use the Style Editor to modify rules.

I just realized that this issue only occurs on some web applications, in particular the one I'm working on. I can't figure out what it is that is triggering this behavior.

See the attached animated gif for demo.

By the way, performing the same actions using Chrome works as expected.
