I'm running Firefox 68.0.1 on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I tried to delete a certificate authority: privacy & security > View Certificates> Authorities> select certificate > delete of Distrust> OK The certificate(s) will be initially deleted. Unfortunately when I press ok to close the window and press “view certificate” again the deleted certificates will reappear again! Note1: I've repeated the same steps above using Ubuntu in a virtual box. The same problem occurs. Certificates temporarily deleted then automatically restored. Note2: I deleted the same certificate authority from windows certificate manage and I was successfully able to delete it in windows but it still exist in Firefox. Note3: I’m using Norton security. can this be related?

What certificate authorities do you want to remove ?

There is usually no need to distrust/remove builtin root certificates.

I really can’t give details why I need to remove this certificate authority because it might jeopardize my personal safety.
