Hi,

I have a large number of bookmarks saved in my PC-based Firefox which I want to be able to access from my new Samsung Galaxy Android mobile.

I created a Firefox account on the PC and installed Firefox on the mobile. I then used Firefox Sync and all the bookmarks did indeed appear on the mobile Firefox, which is great.

As a test, I then added a new bookmark at the PC Firefox end, but this is not appearing in the mobile Firefox. Both the Firefox accounts (same account on PC and mobile) are logged into.

Should new PC Firefox bookmarks appear automatically in the mobile Firefox, or do they have to be 'manually pushed' from the PC?

Thanks,

bern

If you go to the sync settings in Firefox on your mobile device and select the Sync Now button, does the new bookmark appear?

I find that sometimes Firefox on mobile syncs less often than the PC version, potentially to save data on your device.

Hi Wesley,

Spot on.

The natural period between automatic syncs is long (> 1 hr).

I eventually found the 'Synchronise now' text in the mobile Firefox. The page also allows you to specify what you would like to synchronise (Bookmarks, History, Open tabs, Logins). Just under the 'Synchronise now' text is a line which shows when the last sync occurred. Pressing the 'Synchronise Now' text immediately synced the mobile Firefox with my PC Firefox, and the time since the last sync immediately dropped to 0.

Great, many thanks for your help.

Hi 1943papajoe

Bookmarks from a mobile devices appear in a special folder named "Mobile Bookmarks" that you can find in the left panel in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) in "All Bookmarks" below the "Other Bookmarks" folder and in the Bookmarks Menu below the "Other Bookmarks" folder.

  • Bookmarks Toolbar
  • Bookmarks Menu (only in Library)
  • Other Bookmarks
