When I choose a folder from the Bookmarks Toolbar in a second FF window on my second monitor, the folder opens on my main monitor in a separate small window with the choices in tiny fonts.

None of the extensions, at least of those which i can see (16) should directly affect this by nature, but had you checked this with a clean user profile, or by Restarting Firefox with Add-ons Disabled?

Can you also check in Preferences → Performance Settings, and try turning off Hardware Acceleration?
