need feature to not store history in address bar and allow deleting of this history.

I have my browser set to extreme privacy. And I find that you compromised that privacy by doing the one thing you should never have done.

you went and added "history" to the freaking address bar.

HELLO I HAVE "DO NOT SAVE HISTORY OF BROWSING" SETTING SELECTED!!!!!!!

your freaking address bar history is completely bypassing that security privacy setting. by relocating the history to the FREAKING ADDRESS BAR!!!!

My laptop is ALWAYS in public place and I DO NOT WANT ANY DATA TO FALL IN TO WRONG HANDS INCLUDING BROWSING HISTORY THAT CAN BE TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT AND USED MALICIOUSLY AGAINST YOU!!

So how the hell do I stop this feature and keep it from recording my FREAKING BROWSING HISTORY. IT COMPLETELY BYPASSES PRIVATE BROWSING MODE.

well crap looks like removed private mode feature as well

Along with this setting being selected "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" AKA delete the freaking history regardless to where it is.

Also firefox is set to never remember history THIS MUST INCLUDE THE FREAKING ADDRESS BAR OR THE FEATURE IS USELESS!!!!! because the address bar recall is the freaking history THAT IS BEING RECORDED AND STORED AGAINST USER SETTINGS AND WISHES COMPRIMISING THEIR PRIVACY AND SECURITY!!!

Is that history still there after restarting the browser? If not, then the item was only available during that session.

When a Private Windows browser is closed, all data is removed. Until then, it is stored in temporary storage.

Note that it is safer to use "Clear history when Firefox closes" as that includes cookies with an allow exception as well.

Setting history to Never remember history converts your session to 100% private browsing.

Are you seeing suggestions based on your current session history, or based on previous session history?

Private browsing should not generate history entries anywhere in Firefox.

If you have previous session history, try using the Library window to clear it:

  • Ctrl+Shift+H
  • in the "Search history" box at the upper right, enter http
  • select all items in the list of results (Ctrl+A) and delete

Regarding your laptop being in a public place, do you secure it when you are away from the keyboard? If you hold the "Windows" key and tap L, Windows will lock the screen and require your password to get in.
