I've been using Calendar in Thunderbird. I prefer to have the current week at the top of the Calendar view but haven't figured a way to do this.

Also, in month view, one of the days is colored purple and I'm not sure why.

That is to tell you that coloured purple day is Today. It helps you to find the current week when in 'Month' view.

Select 'Multiweek' tab The current week appears at the top.
