Why is firefox exe running on my GPU ?!!!?
WHY IS FIREFOX EXE RUNNING ON MY GPU ? -- Task manager (Win10x64 22H2) 'processes' shows 7 firefoxes running (task manager 'details' shows 15! with only 3 tabs open); nVidia GPU Activity shows 2 running on my GPU, I don't know whether these are included in these counts or are extra to them. To forestall (hopefully) buck-passing evasions: I'm running an comparativerly old but still working fine 4th gen 4-core (8 threads) i7 cpu with 16 GB RAM, so there should be no reason to HAVE TO tap into the 16GB VRAM. ///WHY/// is firefox running on my GPU at all ?!!???? why so many firefoxes?, why the discrepancy between 'processes' and 'details' ?

(task manager 'details' show : 146 processes running, including 68x svchost exe; 7x Runtime Broker; 15x firefox exe. Firefox is up to date, so is latest x64 version). 'NVIDIA GPU Activity' shows 9 processes running on GPU: 5 nVidia ones, 2 firefox exes, a (MS) PhoneExperienceHost exe*, and a security av exe (thank heavens! in the circumstances of there being ANYTHING non-nVidia running on the GPU) from my paid security suite. In case this helps to explain anything)
- Win 10 search (AFTER above pgm counts) couldn't find it, but it comes from MS Phone Link from Windows store; the MS Community had a howto remove using MS PowerShell; following which it disappeared from the GPU list

You can stop Firefox using your GPU (except for WebGL) by disabling hardware acceleration.
