I monitor the temperature of my PC's CPU with a program called Core Temp. The CPU gets up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit when watching videos. Stayed between 100-115 degrees Fahrenheit when I was using Chrome. The temperature is around 98 as I write this, no video playing. Why is this?

Make sure you have NOT disabled hardware acceleration.

If the videos are on youtube, it may help to install h264ify.

You can try force-enabling hardware video decoding by going to about:config and changing media.hardware-video-decoding.force-enabled to true then restart the browser.
