Somehow I moved many messages from [my account’s] Trash to Local Folders Trash and would like to restore them on a folder scale rather than moving each message - one by one. Nothing has been lost, just moved to an out of the way place. Thanks.

So move them back. Click on the first message in the list, hold the shift key and click the last in the list you want (multiple selection of list items has worked that way since at least windows version 3 in 1985, and it appears apple agree that is the multiple list selection method. https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/mac-help/mchlp1378/mac)

Now drag the messages where you want them.

Thanks Matt, I've done that in the past but today it completely went out of my head - duh! Thanks for taking the time to respond to my little issue. Tom
