"Privacy-Preserving Ad Measurement" default for GPC users?
If I have Global Privacy Control turned on, will "Privacy-Preserving Ad Measurement" be turned on automatically when I upgrade, or will I have to disable it?

Hi Don
Very long time no hear, I hope you are okay. I believe we met at some Mozilla events many years back.
Let me check with Mozilla staff and I will come back to you.
Hi Don
I have checked with staff who have confirmed to me that Privacy-Preserving Attribution (PPA) is turned on by default when you update to Firefox 128.
You can read more about PPA at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/privacy-preserving-attribution
I hope that this helps.
Hi Paul,
Even if I have Global Privacy Control turned on?
If (in an earlier version of Firefox) I go to my preferences and turn on GPC, then on update to version 128 Firefox will still turn on this advertising feature?
Thank you, Don
Hi Don
Thank you for following up.
I have checked and had it confirmed that the Privacy-Preserving Attribution control is enabled by default when you update independently of the Global Privacy Control setting - the two are not connected.
Regardless of your Global Privacy Control setting, when you update to Firefox 128, the Privacy-Preserving Attribution feature trial will be turned on.
I hope that this helps.

For clarification, Global Privacy Control is a signal you can have Firefox send to websites when you retrieve pages, images, and other resources, requesting that they not sell your personal information. It is not a global switch for all Firefox privacy controls, or even a switch that controls a bundle of settings, like Tracking Protection level. And many sites do not yet pay attention to Global Privacy Control, so you should think of it as a supplement to your other privacy settings and tools.
