In every text editor I've ever used for the last 25 years, typing a number and then a period will automatically turn on paragraph numbering. Or typing a * or - at the start of a line will create a bulleted list. How can I have this behaviour with Thunderbird?

Currently my only solution is to use the mouse and toolbar, which really slows down writing an e-mail. I also looked for keyboard shortcuts, but couldn't find any.

Thanks,

Robert

Thunderbird is not a text editor, such as notepad++ or Editpad or UltraEdit; It is a facility for writing messages. The bulleted list capability is there is you compose HTML messages.
