All three of my browsers have been hijacked. FF is not reporting the proper level to software but about FF shows the correct version. I use Vipre and microsoft anti-virus programs and it still got through.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== I used yahoo to search on the web.

Your user-agent has been changed by something that you have downloaded or installed:

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent

Your user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefoxcontrol/5.00290 889803046903 (.NET CLR 2.0.50727)

Normal rather plain user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 ~~red:Firefox/3.6.3~~ - Build ID: 20100401080539

Reset general user-agent -type about:config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key -if you see the warning, accept it (promise to be careful) -Filter = general.useragent.extra.firefox -the item will be bold and show user set -right-click that preference and select Reset -restart Firefox (File > Restart Firefox)

Update Java: your ver. 1.6.0.17; current ver. 1.6.0.20 (important security update 04-15-2010) (Windows users: Do the manual update; very easy.) See: Updating Java Do the update with Firefox closed.

Thanks for the information. The item had been modified, I did what you said and saved it. Rebooted and the same problem still exists. I have added every website that it has redirected me to a host file to try to stop it but no luck.

Here is the page info for the redirecting source:

var str="The document has moved, redirecting..."; document.write(str);

var timer=10 ; var interval=setInterval( function(){ timer=timer-1; if(timer

Install, update and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode", but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have. (Not all programs detect the same Malware.)
