I don't know why that happened, but Firefox 4.0 is in the first Beta stage of development and really isn't ready for anything more than testing. The release version of Firefox 4.0 is 5 to 6 months away from actually being released and much work is needed to polish it.

You're better off with Firefox 3.6.6 or 3.5.10 right now.
